Kerala Cultural Tour & Culinary Experience

Day 1: Cochin Arrival

On arrival at Cochin airport you will be received by our company representative holding a placard and shall assist you to the hotel in Fort Cochin for check in. In the afternoon go for Cochin sightseeing with the assistance of a guide and visit Jewish Synagogue (Closed on Fridays, Saturdays & Jewish Holidays), Dutch Palace (Closed on Friday) St. Francis Church where Vasco De Gama was first buried, Santa Cruz Basilica and the Chinese Fishing Nets. Later in the evening, free time to explore the lovely town on your town and enjoy sea food from the beach side restaurant. Overnight stay at hotel in Fort Cochin (Hotel Arches (3 star), Old Harbour (4 star) Malabar House (5 star) during Kerala Cultural tour.

Day 2: Cochin

After an early breakfast drive to Nimmy Paul's home to attend cooking demonstration classes and have delicious lunch there. After lunch drive back to Fort Cochin and visit the Greenix cultural village to watch kerala culture show comprises of 7 different art forms like Kathakali, Kalaripayattu, Mohiniyattam, Bharatanatyam, Theyam etc. Later back to hotel and overnight stay at Fort Cochin .

Day 3: Cochin - Vagamon (120kms/3hrs)

Post breakfast drive to Vagamon - a small isolated hill station and on arrival check into the lovely homestay called Vanilla County. You will be warmly received by the host and served with delicious Kerala food. In the evening walk through the plantations and relax in the natural pond nearby. Overnight stay at Vanilla County during your Kerala culture tour.

Day 4: Vagamon

After breakfast do the local sightseeing visiting the church on the hill top, the dairy farm, etc. Later rcome back to the homestay and attend the cooking demonstration class (kerala culture) and have delicious meals. Overnight stay at Vanilla County.

Day 5: Vagamon - Kanjirapally (100kms/2.5hrs)

After breakfast drive to the lovely village called Kanjirapally where the beautiful homestay "Kalaketty Estate" is located. Check into the homestay and relax for the day overlooking the plantations and the paddy fields. You will be taking care of by Mrs. Anuja and Mr. Kurian and they will serve delicious Kerala traditional food to you. Overnight stay at Kalaketty Estate.

Day 6: Kanjirapally

Post breakfast you can go around the plantation, the various spices, fruits grown, the rubber trees and the making of rubber sheets. Later visit the bee farm, temple and the school for blind. In the evening learn Indian cooking with Mrs. Anuja who will teach you some mouth watering cuisine. Overnight stay at Kalaketty Estate

Day 7: Kanjirapally - Alleppey (50kms/1hr)

Today you can check out from the homestay and drive to the lovely backwater destination called Alleppey to embark the private houseboat at 12.30PM for a thrilling experience in the backwater. During the cruise you can visit ancient temples, churches, paddy fields and can watch the day to day life of the village people who live close to these backwater canals. Your crew will look after you and will serve you with delicious Kerala food on board. Overnight stay at Deluxe Air-conditioned Houseboat (Kindly note the air-condition in the houseboat will be switched on from 9pm to 7am only) in Kerala Cultural tour.

Day 8: Alleppey - Cherthala (20kms/30mins)

After breakfast disembark the houseboat by 9.30am, from where the driver will pick you and proceed to Ayanat House, a lovely homestay at Cherthala. Check in and you will be served with delicious Kerala food during the stay. Spend the day relaxing and chatting with the family. You have the option for plantation walk, see toddy tapping (traditional Kerala alcohol) and attending the cooking demonstration classes. Overnight stay at Ayanat House

Day 9: Cherthala

Next day of your Kerala Cultural tour, Have breakfast and later visit the local village and see the coir and rope making activities which the villagers are engaged in. Then see the farmers working in the field, visit the prawns farm and doing fishing. You can also work along with them in the field or try fishing. If you catch any fish then host shall serve that fish for you in dinner. Later enjoy country boat ride to explore the narrow backwater canals. Overnight stay at Ayanat House.

Day 10: Cherthala - Cochin Departure (50kms/1.5hrs)

On this day depending upon your flight schedule, you will be given departure assistance to Cochin airport to board the flight back home
